Contract

This is a UNV contract. More about UNV contracts.

We will be working in a SCRUM based process and try to iteratively explore the solutions for the problem. Our partners will be leading the decision-making process and set goals and targets to the team of volunteers to achieve the required outputs. The Lab provides in-house expertise, resources, and research support to various UNDP projects to mainstream digital transformation to development problems and to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The online volunteers will assist SDG AI to further develop of an online tool, which can be used to display maps and other information regarding social vulnerability. The tool is a react- next.js application written in JavaScript, tailwind CSS, HTML and Python for backend purposes. It displays web maps with React-Leaflet libraries and will be run in a local web browser as an online application. We need assistance to add more features to the tool, such as menu-items, toggling functions, interactive response mechanisms and more. Furthermore, it will be necessary to deploy the model on an online server (we have one) and run it remotely.

Bachelor’s (or higher) in Computer Science or related field with strong interest in front end development. Applied knowledge of programming languages such as in JavaScript and frameworks like react, leaflet, openlayers, tailwind CSS, next.js and similar are required.
