iDiaspora was initially conceived as a vehicle through which diaspora communities could share their concerns, hopes & ideas during the consultation process for the Global Compact for Migration. During initial consultations w/diaspora communities & other partners, it became clear to the iDiaspora team that there was a wider appetite for something more meaningful through the platform. iDiaspora is a community driven digital venue, facilitated by IOM, designed to empower diaspora engagement in the 21st century. iDiaspora’s vision is to be the go-to venue for diaspora engagement & knowledge, now & into the future. iDiaspora will provide interactive & easy access to global connections, content & commentary on diaspora engagement.
