You have:
- Relevant Masters' university degree with at least 7 years of experience (or a Bachelor’s with at least 10 years’ experience and formal training).
- Proven experience in managing tangible and intangible assets, preferably within the non-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of asset valuation, optimization, and lifecycle management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in asset management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.

Main purpose of position
The Assets Business Partner will manage ICARDA’s physical and operational assets, focusing on maximizing asset value, maintaining precise inventory control, ensuring compliance, and facilitating timely and accurate cost recovery. The role involves developing strategies to maximize asset value, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization, and aligning asset management practices with the organization's strategic objectives.

Main responsibilities
- Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposition of physical assets, including equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of tangible assets and conduct regular audits to ensure optimal utilization and condition.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to prolong asset lifespan and ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage the organization's intangible assets, such as intellectual property, trademarks, copyrights, and digital assets.
- Ensure proper documentation, valuation, and protection of intangible assets.
- Develop strategies to leverage intangible assets to support the organization's mission and objectives.
- Conduct regular assessments to determine the value and performance of organization assets and recommend corrective measures as needed.
- Identify opportunities to enhance asset value and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Develop and implement asset management policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all asset management activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to align asset management strategies with overall organizational objectives.
- Prepare detailed reports on asset status, performance, and recommendations for senior management and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset management, including obsolescence, depreciation, and legal issues.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential asset-related challenges.
Requirements

Terms of appointment, salary, and benefits
This is a nationally recruited position for which ICARDA offers an attractive compensation package including a competitive salary, medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, five months’ maternity leave, 15 days’ paternity leave. The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract of 3 years, renewable subject to continued need for the position and satisfactory performance. The first year will be probationary period.
