This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

The UN Clinics operate, regarding technical matters only, under the general supervision of the UN Medical Director DHMOSH and with the UNDP Deputy Resident Representative with regards to administrative matters. Under the supervision of the Health Manager, the Assets Management & Maintenance Clerk is responsible for the management of the day-to-day office activities; facilities and asset management, policy, and procedures maintenance to meet operational needs of the UN Clinic.

UN Clinic office in Aden requires an Assets Management & Maintenance Clerk to ensure that its office space and office grounds are always clean, in good working order to ensure the delivery of UN Clinic objectives. The Assets Management & Maintenance Clerk will co-ordinate regular maintenance, support asset recording and tracking and ensure proper rec-ords and timely maintenance for all office needs. Premises Maintenance Supervision • Promote due care and attention to the maintenance of assets. • Ensure the premises is kept clean and tidy and all appliances are running properly. • Ensure proper running of all electrical backup system such as generators, solar sys-tem or telephone and communication systems. • Track fuel consumption, support timely replenishment and ensure safe storage • Keep and develop contacts for vendors required for office supplies and mainte-nance. • Identify needs and specifications of goods and service needed for the maintenance of UNDP Assets in Aden. • Coordinate suppliers and service providers for maintenance and delivery • Ensure practical and efficient storage of assets, consumables. Asset management • Ensure integrity and accuracy of timely recording and tagging of assets. • Maintain asset list and make regularly of consumables • Ensure proper bookkeeping and inventory of all office assets as per UNDP rules and regulations. • Ensure the safeguarding of all assets. • Track all utility bills, record, and monitor consumption, bill payment and liaise with services in case of system damage or repairs. • Support UN Clinic to safeguard its interests in the disposal of assets. • Support with small purchase and with the preparation and delivery of routine corre-spondence • Enter in ATLAS of all the requisite asset management information. • Record and review assets in the Asset Management Module to ensure that all fields are complete, and the asset dashboard shows 100% completion. The incumbent of the position should avoid any kind of discriminatory behavior including gender discrimination and ensure that • Human rights and gender equality is prioritized as an ethical principle within all ac-tions. • Activities are designed and implemented in accordance with “Social and Environ-mental Standards of UNDP”. • Any kind of diversities based on ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, class, gender are respected within all implementations including data production; • Differentiated needs of women and men are considered. • Inclusive approach is reflected within all actions and implementations, in that sense an enabling and accessible setup in various senses such as disability gender language barrier is created. • Necessary arrangements to provide gender parity within all committees, meetings, trainings etc. introduced. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to: • Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day). • Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country. • Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities. • Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publica-tions/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc. • Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly arrived UN Volunteers. • Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service when-ever technically possible.

• At least 2 years of experience in the field of assets and premises management. • Previous experience in a UN field operation is an asset. Knowledge and understand-ing of relevant UN administrative policies and procedures is desirable. • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is desirable

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
