How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Construction Engineer, the intern will support Libya Country Office in the Architectural Design needed and administration of project management work for construction and rehabilitation projects with the aim of supporting operations to accomplish the work in a timely manner.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  1. Make an assessment of the existing workspace availability and constraints vis-a-vis the needs within the UNICIF office.
  2. Redesign UNICEF office spaces and rearrangement of seating based on prospective occupancy and office organogram in consultation with the head of operations and HR office.
  3. Support Construction Engineer in Architectural Design needed for facilities and office arrangement.
  4. Support operations in ensuring the timely submission of high-quality reports and updates.
  5. Support the Construction Engineer in rehabilitation/construction projects for follow-up and completing the required documentation, especially in reviews and ensuring progress documentation is received and updated.
  6. Ensure that all due diligence properly completed and check all close-out construction documents obtained.
  7. Any other tasks requested by the Construction Engineer and head of Operation.

Internship Programme Requirements:

To be considered for an internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. degree programme or have graduated within the past two years in architectural Engineering or another equivalent field.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Be proficient in English and Arabic languages
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g. father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office; and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to.​​​​​​​
  • Additional consideration will be given to any past experience and knowledge of Architectural Design programs.
