You have:
- Previous experience (at least 2 years) providing Arabic-English translation, interpretation, language support, or multilingual facilitation is required.
- Demonstrated interest or exposure to one or more relevant topics such as digital skills, artificial intelligence (AI), climate action, entrepreneurship, youth development, or community engagement.
- Availability to attend scheduled online training sessions and provide ad hoc language support when required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and support effective interaction among participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience supporting training programmes, workshops, educational initiatives, or community activities is an asset.
- Previous involvement with a development organization, UN entity, NGO, community initiative, or volunteer programme is desirable.

Under the guidance of the Future Tech Leaders Programme team, Online Volunteers will:
- Attend selected online bootcamp and training sessions as scheduled by the programme team (typically one to two sessions per week, lasting approximately 2–3 hours each). The schedule and distribution of sessions will be agreed upon with the Online Volunteers in advance.
- Provide ad hoc Arabic-English language support to participants and facilitators, when requested, to help clarify course content and discussions.
- Assist participants in understanding course instructions, activities, and key messages during training sessions.
- Support communication between trainers, mentors, and participants when language barriers arise.
- Respond to language-related questions in the chat and assist with basic communication-related troubleshooting during sessions.
- Help foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for participants from diverse backgrounds.
Please note that Online Volunteers will not be expected to provide full-session simultaneous interpretation. Their role is to provide ad hoc language support and facilitate communication when needed.
The Future Tech Leaders (FTL) AI4Climate Bootcamp and associated community trainings in Syria aim to equip Syrian youth, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders with digital, AI, and climate-related skills.
To help ensure an inclusive learning environment, UNDP is seeking Online Volunteers to provide Arabic-English language support during selected online sessions only when requested, rather than live translation during the entire session. Volunteers will help facilitate communication between participants and facilitators when language barriers arise and support participants in fully engaging with course activities and discussions.
