This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Office, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

- In close collaboration with program specialists in the five fields of competence of UNESCO (education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, communication and information) at the UNESCO Office in Rabat and the experts working in project antennas in Tunis, Algiers and Nouakchott, analyze the objectives and targeted results of programmes and activities with a view to valorizing them in the media;

- Audit and review the communication tools with a view to adapting them to specific audiences especially those who are mainly arabophone and contribute to creating a vision for communicating with each audience;

- Contribute to the design of events and campaigns including in mainstream media (radio, TV);

- Draft texts for the UNESCO Website, press releases and media announcements, as well as speeches and messaging in Arabic language and edit and translate from English and French into Arabic language existing material provided by UNESCO’s Department of Public Information;

- Assist the Resident Coordinator Office in Morocco (Rabat) in similar assignments upon request.

Educational additional comments

Advanced university degree (Bachelor degree or equivalent) in education, international relations, economics, social sciences or other relevant fields. A first level university degree in combination with 2 additional years of relevant professional experience might be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
