Result of Service Reporting to the Application Support Officer within ICAO’s EAS Section, the incumbent will be required to understand business processes and how enabling technologies can be applied to achieve business objectives. He/She is expected to have knowledge in SharePoint technology, website design and user support. The Application Support Assistant should make accurate problem assessments and demonstrate above-average attention to detail and competence. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are as important as technical skills in this internal consulting role.

Expected duration It should be noted that this consultancy is to be filled for an initial period of six (6) months with a possibility of an extension up to 11 months.

Duties and Responsibilities THE ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING The Bureau of Administration and Services (ADB) plays a lead role in the effective and efficient administrative management of the Organization by ensuring the provision of high-quality physical and human resources, by applying the highest standards of work ethics and conduct, and by using results based management skills and tools to support the Organization in implementing its Strategic Objectives, in order to serve all stakeholders of the world aviation community.

The Information and Administrative Services (IAS) Division falls under the auspices of the Bureau of Administration and Services (ADB) and is headed by the Deputy Director, IAS (DD/IAS) who has responsibility for planning, developing and implementing an information management strategy, setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Organization.

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Section, under the management of the Chief, ICT Section (C/ICT), reports directly to the DD/IAS and is a service provider, which plans, acquires or develops and manages the organization’s enterprise applications and systems. Key activities of the Section include Core Services and Infrastructure Management (CSIM); Enterprise Architecture and Project Management (EAPM); Business Application Services (BAS), and Enterprise Application Services (EAS), which includes software development and support for enterprise applications, ERP system support, and web management support services.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Working under the management of the Application Support Officer, the Application Support Assistant shall be required to: - Support users on the creation and maintenance of SharePoint websites. - Provide operational support for the following areas: o SharePoint 2010 support o SharePoint 2013 support o SharePoint 2016 support o SharePoint Online support

  • Support users on the use of, and assist with the administration of, other Enterprise Applications such as: o M365 apps (e.g. MS Teams, MS Stream, etc.) o Zoom o K2 Workflow

    Qualifications/special skills Experience: Essential

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in web content management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in producing documentation for end-users.
  • At least 5 years of experience with software quality assurance & user support.
  • Functional and/or technical experience in one or more of the following applications would be required: SharePoint 2010, SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016, SharePoint online.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint Designer

Desirable: - Functional and/or technical experience in one or more of the following applications would be desirable: MS-Visio, K2 BlackPearl, Colligo Email manager, jQuery & ColdFusion.

Skills: - Familiarity with a broad range of technologies supplemented by in-depth knowledge in specific areas of relevance. - Ability to quickly grasp user support needs and respond effectively. - Interpersonal skills that create openness and trust among colleagues. - Capable of effective working relationships. - Good spoken and written communications to present technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

Academic Qualifications: Essential High School diploma or equivalent

Desirable Specialization in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business or related field of study.

Language: Essential - Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English are essential.

Desirable - A working knowledge of a second language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).

Additional Information Please note that the daily rate for A varies from $186 to $248. Work schedule and attendance will vary depending on the project deployment phases.
