Overview

Provide technical support for UNDEF Project Proposal Application Portal

You have:

• Post-secondary education, preferably with a university degree in business management, information management, communication, computer sciences, or related fields
• Minimum fifteen years of experience in software development, programming, applications development, systems design and development methodologies
• Extensive experience in design and development of open-source applications using content management systems and frameworks such as Drupal, Joomla, Plone, etc
• Experience in Salesforce and FormAssembly architectures
• Excellent knowledge of PHP, MySQL and relational database concepts
• Demonstrated experience with effective user interface design
• Fluency in oral and written English is required

Result of Service Under the supervision of the Executive Head of UNDEF, the consultant is expected to provide technical support for the UNDEF Project Proposal Application Portal in the context of providing civil society applicants the tools necessary to apply for funding during UNDEF’s 17th round (2022).

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Democracy Fund is a Secretary-General Trust Fund that supports democratization efforts around the world. It funds, designs, manages, mentors, and generates projects that empower civil society, promote human rights, and encourage the participation of all groups in democratic processes. The majority of UNDEF funds go to local civil society organizations — both in the transition and consolidation phases of democratization. Under the supervision of the Executive Head of UNDEF, the consultant is expected to provide technical support for the UNDEF Project Proposal Application Portal in the context of providing civil society applicants the tools necessary to apply for funding during UNDEF’s 17th round (2022). Specific tasks 1. Preparation of Application Portal in FormAssembly. o Configure and Customize FormAssembly English form to export/sync to Salesforce o Configure and Customize FormAssembly French form to export/sync to Salesforce 2. Salesforce database updates: o Modifications to meet new requirements such as new fields in FormAssembly. o Auto-email configuration and testing o Field trigger testing: Project Geographical Scope; Regional Focus for Multi-Country Projects; Country; Year; Region; Project Focus; Budget trigger (same amounts across input/output types) o Validation rules are in place and fields are mapped correctly between FormAssembly and Salesforce. 3. Technical support for Round 17 Call for proposal o Monitor activation and deactivation of the online project proposal portals (English and French). o Provide technical advice and support to UNDEFs Round 17 applicants o Organize additional API calls 4. Database maintenance o Ensure functioning interface between multiple data objects: UNDEF website / Online application portal / UNDEF project database / Public Project Search Site o Review Salesforce 2022 updates and reconfigure if and where needed to mitigate impact on UNDEFs project database o Quality control of in-house proposal filter mechanisms o Public Search update (e.g., new Round) o Themes management & Custom search updates 5. Webhosting and maintenance
