- Previous experience editing humanitarian-related documents is preferred.

UNFPA/Humanitarian Office seeks an experienced editor in the English language with previous experience in editing humanitarian-related documents. The editor should have the capacity to deal with GBV, SRH and CVA terminology (some brief examples of standard terminology will be provided in English- the “UNFPA Tip Sheets for CVA”) and humanitarian terminology, and previous experience editing for UNFPA is desirable. Therefore, we are seeking experienced editors to analyze, proofread, revise and provide clear alternatives to amending the language of the documents. Editing would take place as soon as possible or early in 2021 if not possible over the end of year holiday period. Documents for Editing: -CVA Case Studies – e.g. Philippines, Palestine, Indonesia, Northwest Syria, Bangladesh – 5-10 pages each – please note that this is the immediate priority -Toolbox for GBV Coordinators – 40-45 pages

As part of UNFPA’s Commitments to Scaling Up Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), UNFPA is seeking an editor for a series of technical documents. UNFPA is a leading organization in the areas of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and the prevention and response to gender-based violence (GBV) in humanitarian settings. In addition, UNFPA, as the global lead of the GBV Area of Responsibility, has a key role to play when it comes to GBV integration into CVA in humanitarian settings.

Volunteers must have a very strong command of the English language. This task requires strong mastery of English and its subtleties. Strong writing and editing skills are required. Familiarity with technical terms related to GBV & SRH will be considered an advantage.
