Duties and Responsibilities
The CMS Secretariat is seeking a consultant to prepare an analysis of national reports for consideration by the 9th Meeting of Signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation and Management of Marine Turtles and their Habitats of the Indian Ocean and South-East Asia (MOS9, June 2024, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania). Under this assignment, the consultant will 1) Prepare a written analysis of the reports received from Signatory States, which will: • focus on key indicators of progress made in the implementation of the MOU • focus on gaps in implementation and priorities to be addressed • be organized by CMP Objective and, where applicable, relating to its Programmes and WP 2020-2024 activities • summarize findings by sub-region (WIO, NWIO, NIO and SEA+ sub-regions as defined under the MOU) 2) Summarize the findings in a presentation to be given at MOS9.
Qualifications/special skills
PhD or Postgraduate degree in relevant field. In-depth knowledge of marine turtle conservation status and threats in the MOU area. Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Fluency in English is required.
