You have:
- A first level university degree in social sciences, humanities, natural and applied sciences or business is required.
- 7 years of experience working in business administration, project management and/or on development related issues in the Arab region is required.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Experience in working with a UN entity is desirable.
Result of Service The IC will support the following main outputs: - AFSD 2023 - 2023 Annual SDG Review
The IC will also make sure that AFSD activities and documentation are delivered properly with quality and adequate support.
Work Location Beirut
Expected duration 6 Months
Duties and Responsibilities The Individual Contractor is expected to carry out the following tasks under the direct supervision of the Sustainable Development Officer co-leading work on AFSD 2023:
1. Assist in the undertaking of research for AFSD 2023 and the preparation of supporting materials, including SDG Background Notes, list of AFSD speaker bioanodes and visual aids.
2. Provide translation, review and verification functions related to the materials prepared.
3. Undertake coordination functions with different ESCWA departments and members of the interagency TF in follow up on inputs and preparatory meetings.
4. Provide logistical support to AFSD 2023 including those related to IT support: coordination on the website to ensure timely upload of information and preparation of online materials.
5. Assist in research as relevant and in the preparation of input to the Annual SDG Review and its production process.
6. Assist in the verification of data and references for the Annual SDG Review and in follow-up with the Statistics Division as necessary.
7. Assist in note taking during meetings and in the preparation of meeting minutes and of briefing points for assigned AFSD 2023 sessions to feed into the AFSD 2023 meeting report.
8. Maintain related files.
9. Undertake other tasks upon the request of the supervisor.
Qualifications/special skills A first level university degree in social sciences, humanities, natural and applied sciences or business is required. 7 years of experience working in business administration, project management and/or on development related issues in the Arab region is required. Experience in working with a UN entity is desirable.
Languages Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
