World Vision Uganda (WVU) is a Christian relief, development and advocacy non-government organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. We currently work in 53 districts and have 48 Area Programmes implementing projects in health & nutrition, water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH), livelihoods & resilience, education and child protection. World Vision (WV) is committed to the protection of children and adult beneficiaries from exploitation and abuse and will not employ people whose background is not suitable for working with these beneficiaries. Position: Advocacy Support Assistant

Report to: Associate Director Advocacy

Location: Kampala - National Office

Purpose of the position:

The Advocacy Support Assistant will oversee logistical and administrative services for external and internal engagements and support the Advocacy Unit in implementing national project activities. This role reports to the Associate Director, Advocacy, and supports the overall programme quality department as and when required.

Key Outputs/Responsibilities.

  • Support with procurement of consultants and vendors for all advocacy-related activities at the national level including external engagement and /or events
  • Manage invoices and follow up on payments of relevant service providers
  • Assist in organizing catering needs for internal and external meetings
  • Support internal and external engagement forums ensuring all the necessary logistics are in place including registration forms, IEC materials, and process transport refunds where applicable
  • Assist with delivery of invitations and track RSVPs including thank you notes for external engagements.
  • Track the utilization of national-level advocacy pooled budget
  • Ensure all advocacy-related IEC materials ( Banners, Notebooks, T-shirts, publications etc.) are safely stored and availed whenever required by program teams
  • Ensure all advocacy reports and policy documents are properly filed for knowledge management
  • Support in any other relevant duties assigned

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience.

  • Must possess a University Degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, development studies, and any other business discipline
  • Currently volunteering or working with a reputable organization in a related role
  • Demonstrate skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Possess excellent communication and writing skills
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and capacity to pay attention to detail
  • Appreciation of policy adherence including risk mitigation
  • Result oriented and responsive
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and capacity to coordinate with teams
  • Must be eager to learn and work well with various teams.
  • Consistently approach work with zeal and a positive attitude, with the ability to work well under pressure
