This is a Internship contract. It usually requires 0 years of experience, depending on education. More about Internship contracts.

Background

UNDP is the knowledge frontier organization for sustainable development in the UN Development System and serves as the integrator of collective action to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. UNDP’s policy work carried out at Headquarters, Regional and Country Office levels forms a contiguous spectrum of deep local knowledge to cutting-edge global perspectives and advocacy. In this context, UNDP invests in the Global Policy Network (GPN), a network of field-based and global technical expertise across a wide range of knowledge domains and in support of the signature solutions and organizational capabilities envisioned in the Strategic Plan to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Within the GPN, the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) has the responsibility for developing all relevant policy and programme guidance to support implementation of UNDP’s Strategic Plan. UNDP’s Global Anti-Corruption Programme, Anti-Corruption for Peaceful and Inclusive Societies (ACPIS), is UNDP’s main vehicle for supporting and coordinating UNDP’s anti-corruption work both internally through UNDP regional hubs and country offices and externally with other relevant partners. UNDP’s ACPIS Global Project provides policy and advisory support to implement anti-corruption measures, strengthens national capacities to integrate anti-corruption, transparency, accountability and integrity in key development areas, and leads global knowledge and advocacy on anti-corruption.

The ACPIS Global Project produces knowledge products on relevant anti-corruption topics and coordinates the UN interagency anti-corruption web-portal (www.anti-corruption.org), which includes open access to online courses and publications across various thematic areas.

In addition, the ACPIS Global Project together with UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub coordinates the online Asia-Pacific Integrity in Action (AP-INTACT) Network. The AP-INTACT Network has over one thousand members and is a platform to share information and knowledge on relevant anti-corruption issues. While initially the platform was established for the Asia-Pacific region by providing relevant information through daily email updates and quarterly newsletters, the platform has now become global due to the high interest from anti-corruption practitioners, government representatives, civil society and other stakeholders across all regions.

With this background, UNDP’s ACPIS Global Team is hiring an Intern to support the ACPIS Global Project in advocacy and communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Intern will carry out tasks as assigned by the ACPIS Global Team in relation to internal and external advocacy and communications, including the following:

  • Undertake basic research activities and news monitoring to identify daily updates, contributions or contributors for the AP-INTACT Network. Ensure that news updates are circulated on an average of 6 times per week on the AP-INTACT Network; and manage its platform and mailing list on a daily basis to facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Mirror AP-INTACT news highlights in the official AP-INTACT Twitter account (@APINTACTNetwork) and LinkedIn Group; and archive the circulated updates on the Blogger page https://newsbin-apintact.blogspot.com.
  • Manage AP-INTACT membership requests; and prepare analytics and reports, as required, on AP-INTACT activities.
  • Draft general communications and multimedia content for ACPIS social media channels (e.g. Twitter) and contribute with creative ideas to reach and engage different audiences.
  • Contribute to the ACPIS Global Team’s communications and outreach strategy at major international fora and events.
  • Provide graphic design support to the ACPIS Global Team, including designing flyers/brochures, reports, infographics, social media cards, short videos, and other print and digital communications products for internal and external advocacy.
  • Draft website content and assist in the maintenance of the global anti-corruption web-portal (www.anti-corruption.org).
