Overview

Provide guidance on gender-sensitive data integration and CPAS indicators.

You have:

  • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in gender studies, women's studies, social sciences, political science, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in a relevant field, combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of established expertise in analyzing and integrating gender dimensions into policy and programme formulation and implementation is required.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing gender strategies, gender-sensitive data analysis, or gender assessments is required.
  • Experience in developing gender related capacity building programmes and knowledge sharing products is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Result of Service

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide targeted guidance and advisory support to DPET to strengthen its internal capacity to carry forward work on integrating gender-sensitive considerations into CPAS indicators and related processes, with the understanding that as this capacity is developed, the need for the consultancy will be phased out. In this role, the consultant will provide independent, high-level advisory services to DPET on revising existing indicators in line with international standards and best practices, offer strategic guidance and analytical recommendations to inform internal approaches and documentation, and support knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen understanding of key concepts and approaches. The consultant will also provide advisory input to enhance the systematic integration of gender perspectives across the CPAS cycle, including impact assessments and data interpretation, while not engaging in implementation or ongoing operational functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

The temporary job opening is from 11 May to 30 June 2026. The consultant will be home-based. The consultancy position is located in the Evaluation Team within the Policy, Evaluation and Training Division (DPET) of the Department of Peace Operations (DPO). The consultant is under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Evaluation Team.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in gender studies, women’s studies, social sciences, political science, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in a relevant field, combined with two additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. A minimum of fifteen years of established expertise in analyzing and integrating gender dimensions into policy and programme formulation and implementation is required. Proven experience developing and implementing gender strategies, gender-sensitive data analysis, or gender assessments is required. Experience in developing gender related capacity building programmes and knowledge sharing products is required. Familiar with gender-responsive monitoring and evaluation methods, including gender-related statistics and indicator development is desired Highly developed conceptual, analytical and innovative problem-solving ability; demonstrated ability to handle complex issues is desired.
