Adolescent and youth friendly clinic Coordinator reports to Public Health Specialist/Epidemiologist

Responsibilities The incumbent of this post is located at the UNRWA headquarters, department of health in Jordan, Amman, and will work under the overall direction and leadership of the Director of Health and direct supervision of Public Health Specialist, and in full cooperation and coordination with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Youth Division at headquarters Amman. The incubant is required to travel to the field of UNRWA operations. The incumbent will be required to

1. Conduct an assessment by developing a consultation tool to assess perception and health needs of adolescent and youth attending UNRWA TVET centres, and train the centre staff to collect data for analysis. 2. Analyse the data to compile a report outlining set of recommendations for the adolescent and youth friendly clinic guidelines for UNRWA. 3. Develop an adolescent and youth friendly health services guidelines based on the analysis and findings of the assessment, with a list of standardized services that should be provided by the TVET clinic. 4. Prepare and coordinate an agency wide workshop on adolescent and youth friendly health services and prepare for the workshop report.

Education- Advanced university degree or equivalent in education, public health, gender studies, sociology, human rights, or other field related to adolescent and youth friendly social services, from a recognized institution. - Knowledge and understanding of adolescent and youth targeted health service including age-appropriate adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights. - Outstanding communication skills, with excellent command of spoken and written English. - Demonstrated ability to coordinate with other UNRWA department and external stakeholders

Work Experience At least 7 years of professional experience working in adolescent and youth targeted programming are required.

Understanding of the Palestine refugee’s context at the regional and country level is desirable.

Languages - Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice Type of Contract: Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band G. The Limited Duration Contract applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC.

Duration of Contract: 6 Months - with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

Grade & Salary: LDC- Band G monthly basic salary ranges JOD 1,538.40

Other Benefits: Other benefits include compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave pro-rated to the duration of the contract where less than one year, and family allowance (if applicable).
