The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have worked in the Philippines continuously since 1948. To date, we are 120 dedicated staff working from our offices in Manila and Cotabato.

UNICEF’s capacity, technical skills and structure allow us to work effectively with policy and decision-makers and be among the first responders to humanitarian crisis. It allows us to assess and respond quickly to the priorities and needs of communities in the most remote and underserved areas of the country.

How can you make a difference?

The Adolescent Development and Participation Specialist is primarily responsible for contributing to the achievement of concrete and sustainable results on adolescent development-related programmes/projects according to plans, allocation, results-based-management approaches and methodology (RBM) and UNICEF’s Strategic Plans, standards of performance and accountability framework.

The incumbent supports Health and Nutrition section related processes from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing, and implementing a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Health and Nutrition the post shall undertake the following tasks:

1. Support program development, policy environment and planning at the national and sub-national level for adolescent health and HIV.
2. Program management, monitoring and delivery of results including emergency preparedness and response
3. Technical and operational support to program implementation
4. Networking and partnership building
5. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• An *advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: medical, public health, epidemiology, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field.

* A first University Degree combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

• A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in adolescent health and development, planning and management in adolescent development-related areas is required, or experience in managing UNICEF programes in the área of adolescent health or adolescent development and participation.
• Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
• Demonstrated ability and skills to work with the diverse government and civil society actors.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
