You have:
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related areas is required.
- Knowledge of UN peace operations is required.
- Extensive experience translating administrative and working documents between English and Arabic is required.
- Experience in working with UN enterprise resources planning systems, such as Umoja, is desirable.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (both oral and written) is required.

Result of Service
• The consultant provides effective administrative and coordination support to oil and gas-related engagements and associated workstreams within the Economic Unit. • Planned field missions and consultative meetings of the Economic Unit and PAS are supported through timely administrative preparation and coordination with Mission Support and relevant units. • Internal administrative workflows and tracking tools are strengthened to support efficient implementation of sections activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
This position is located within the Economic Unit of OSESGY and provides specialized administrative and programmatic support to the Economic Team, with particular focus on oil and gas-related workstreams. The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the Political Affairs Section (PAS) to facilitate planned engagements and activities, including preparatory coordination for field missions, visits and consultative meetings with Yemeni and other interlocutors. The incumbent will support internal administrative coordination and workflow alignment for both sections, in close collaboration with Mission Support and relevant administrative units, which retain responsibility for travel processing, procurement and logistical implementation. The incumbent will be based in Amman and will report to the Senior Economic Affairs Officer as First Reporting Officer, with additional reporting to the Principal Political Affairs Officer. • Administratively manage and provide coordination support to the oil and gas-related workstreams including support to 5 consultants and assistance in planning up to two specialist expert meetings • Assist in preparatory administrative actions related to recruitment and onboarding processes for the Economic Unit and PAS, in coordination with HR. • Assist ECON and PAS management in tracking Trust Fund-related activities and maintaining internal documentation and budget monitoring tools for review by responsible officers. • Support the Economic Unit in applying Results-Based Budgeting (RBB) principles to oil and gas-related activities, including assisting with the preparation of activity-based budget inputs, maintaining tracking tools linking planned outputs and expenditures, and supporting internal monitoring of implementation against expected results. • Support the administrative preparation of activities and official travel, including compilation of participant information (e.g., passport details), preparation of draft participant lists, and development of preliminary cost estimates, in coordination with Mission Support. • Contributes to the development and refinement of internal administrative workflows and tracking mechanisms to improve coordination between sections. • Translate essential administrative and working documents (Arabic/English) related to oil and gas and other activities, including oil and gas-related technical materials, economic policy papers, stakeholder briefings, or expert-level consultations. • Performs other related administrative duties, as required.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field is required. Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English and Arabic (both oral and written) is required.
Additional Information
The consultancy is for an initial period of two (2) months. The consultant will be engaged as a Consultant and will be based in Amman, Jordan. The assignment will be performed in person.
