Contract

To support coordination and drafting activities as the Peace Building Fund rolls out in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the establishment of the Secretariat, the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina is seeking a dependable and well-organized UNV Administrative Associate. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. The UNV will also support the United Nations Country Team and Peace and Development Unit in the Resident Coordinator’s Office to facilitate consistency and coherence across communications, government liaison and donor engagement with the various tracks related to peacebuilding activities.
This UN Volunteer assignment is part of the support to a PBF Secretariat in Bosnia and Herzegovina to enhance strategic direction, coordination, and peacebuilding impact.
• Support implementation of the high-level Peacebuilding Steering Committee agreements and related activities, including preparing meetings, minutes and follow-up. • Provide day to day logistical support to the PDU, RC/RCO on programme meetings, donor outreach, site visits with donors and government and other areas as needed. • Draft briefs, minutes, reports, email correspondence, and other relevant documents as required. • Coordinate meetings and appointments, managing scheduling, reminders, and preparation of necessary materials. • Assistance in preparing reports, presentations, and other documentation, as requested by the RC/RCO/PDU/UNCT as needed.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
UN Volunteer entitlements and allowances: The purpose of the allowances and entitlements paid to UN Volunteers is to enable UN Volunteers to sustain a secure standard of living at the duty stations in line with United Nations standards without incurring personal costs. The allowances are in no way to be understood as compensation, reward, or salary in exchange for the UN Volunteer’s service.
