How can you make a difference?

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for executing a broad variety of procedural and specialized administrative tasks for the respective section requiring in-depth knowledge of UNICEF administrative procedures, processes and policies.

  • Procurement/ Supplies/Equipment
  • Communications & Workflow
  • Calendar/Meetings/Correspondence Management
  • Supporting training delivery
  • Preparing reports

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by technical courses related to the scope of the job is required. A university (Bachelor’s) degree in a relevant field is an asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in relevant administrative work is required. (A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted as 4 years experience and will be counted as work experience requirements.)
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and is required.
  • Organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills and abilities are required.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural background is required.
  • Budgeting experience is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of E-Learning management systems is desirable.
  • Software such as SharePoint; knowledge of integrated management information systems is desirable.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Remarks:

General Service (GS) staff are locally recruited staff and therefore, candidates are personally responsible for any travel and accommodation arrangements. UNICEF does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station, which will be facilitated by UNICEF, is required for IP positions.
