What we do

Since 1863, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has worked to preserve human dignity and relieve suffering caused by war and armed violence.

In collaboration with our Red Cross and Red Crescent partners around the world, we do everything we can to deliver life-saving aid, reconnect families and locate missing people, helping those who need it most, regardless of who they are and what side of the front line they are on.

We engage with authorities and armed forces on all sides, often confidentially, pressing for access to detainees to improve their living conditions and urging compliance with international humanitarian law to protect non-combatants, including from digital threats.

Purpose

The Receptionist and Administrative Assistant provide secretarial and or administrative support, in addition to being the visitor’s first point of contact in the delegation.

The qualified candidate should have a technical or bachelor’s degree in business administration or any job-related field, with 2 years of experience in a secretarial position preferably within international organization, NGO or multinational environment. humanitarian sector.

Accountabilities & functional responsibilities

  • Acts as the first point of contact for visitors
  • Handles incoming telephone calls
  • Manages the ICRC stationery stock and promotional items and provides monthly reports on its status
  • Ensures that proper procedures for protection/use/storage of sensitive office supplies exist and maintains updated inventory records.
  • Maintains the calendars of designated managers.
  • Handles the department Service Requests, Field Production Book exercise and Stationary orders
  • Updates the telephone list
  • Registers and distribute external mail
  • Tracks the outgoing mail using the mechanism in pace and updating the General Register Database
  • Prepares for meetings and overlooks the setting up of rooms and materials.
  • Handles the pouches
  • Pick and treat Service Ticket Management requests
  • Overlooks the contacts database, the Interlocutors list and the General Register Database

Certifications / Education required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or any other job relevant field.

Professional experience required

  • Two years of experience in Reception/front desk management, admin support, office coordination, data entry, mail and office supplies management preferably within international organization, NGO or multinational environment.

What we offer

  • Salary Package: 1,624 USD – 2,372 USD/Month (As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).
  • Transportation Allowance: 13$ per day.
  • 13th Month of salary paid in December, pro rata basis in accordance with the period worked.
  • Salary Review/Increase: annually
  • Annual Leave: 20 calendar working days of paid leave per year, pro rata basis in accordance with the period worked.
  • Health Insurance: Full insurance coverage (no co-NSSF) - 90% of premium fees under the class B covered by the ICRC; option for class upgrade is available with extra charges. Coverings include: In-Patient: including pre-existing cases / Out-Patients: Doctor Visits, Medicines, Laboratory tests, Therapeutical services (Physiotherapy, Psychotherapy sessions)
  • International Retirement Saving Plan (IRSP): a contribution valued at 11.5% of your monthly salary, these savings are paid by the end of service as a lump sum.
  • Other benefits subject to internal rules and regulations: High Cost of Living Allowance (HCLA), Schooling allowance, Eyeglasses Reimbursement, Learning and career development opportunities, Internal mobility opportunities leading to expatriate roles.

  • Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.
