This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

UNDP Lebanon Country Office is seeking for an Administrative Assistant to support the Programme Team in administrative and financials processes.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of and in close coordination with the GID Programme Assistant, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

a) Financial Support • Assist in reviewing Request for Payments while ensuring all supporting documents are available and in accordance with rules; • Assist in reviewing procurement documents including request for quotations, request for proposal and micro-purchases while ensuring all supporting documents are available and in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations; • Assist in reviewing Petty Cash vouchers while ensuring that all disbursements are in accordance with UNDP rules and procedures; • Process entry of invoices into Quantum; • Organize a filing system, maintain records and files in accordance with UNDP Lebanon filing policy and upload on database as needed;

b) Operations: • Upload documents on SharePoint, these include payments and their supporting documents; • Review and update information on Sharepoint as might be requested; • Provide general administrative and logistical support to the Programme Unit; • Contribute to other tasks as might be required by the programme team as part of the various programmes’ activities;

Business Administration, Public Administration, or any closely related field; or other relevant programmes; working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset; • Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development; • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel; • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment; • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; • Sound security awareness;

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Beirut. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
