To strengthen our team in Berlin we are looking at the next possible date for an experienced Administration Technical Officer with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Background:

Administration Technical Officer will work in NRC’s Representation Office in Germany, NRC Flüchtlingshilfe Deutschland (NRC FHD). The office is one of the units in NRC’s Partnerships and Policy Department (PnP), which is responsible for:

  • NRC’s strategic relations with institutional donors and private foundations;
  • the organisation’s global advocacy and policy work;
  • partnerships with UN agencies and INGOs.

Administration Technical Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day office operations to run smoothly and efficiently. Main assignments will be connected to assisting with administrative tasks in finance, HR and other organizational matters.

What you will do:

  • Organise office administration and provide support on HR and finance related tasks
  • Be responsible for procurement and inventory management
  • Provide support to staff regarding questions connected to German labour, income tax and social insurance law
  • Be responsible for overseeing the physical workspace, including maintenance, supplies, and equipment, to ensure a functional and organized working environment
  • Data entry, record keeping, filing and document management
  • Manage office and employee expense and reimbursement processes
  • Maintain correspondence and communication with colleagues, private donors, external organisations, and other stakeholders
  • Provide basic IT support

What you will bring:

  • Preferred university degree (bachelor or equivalent) in administration, human resources management, German labour law or finance
  • And/or minimum 3 years experience and good understanding of HR and Administration processes and knowledge of the German labour law, social insurance law, income tax;
  • Experience in payroll and basic understanding of finance;
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken;
  • Computer skills (Office 365);
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Result and service-oriented, structured and systematic, with attention to details and the ability to plan and prioritize work with tight deadlines;
  • High ethical standards and understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements;
  • Capability of operating in an evolving environment with a flexible and innovative attitude;
  • Integrity and honesty
