Duties and Responsibilities

This position is located in the United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries, Gebze, Turkiye and the incumbents report to Administrative Officer. The intern will support the team in the administration and executive office. Tasks will depend on the individual’s background as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to: • Assisting in administrative tasks; • Assisting in official document preparation; • Assist in administrative and substantive support to meetings and conferences, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics, etc; • Assisting with the procurement process under the guidance of procurement procedures, • Communicating with designated vendors. • Assisting maintenance of online archive • Researches and retrieves the data from various sources; preparation of statistical charts, tables and reports as required

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).

Languages

Fluency in English and Turkish is required. NOTE: “Fluency” equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ¨knowledge of¨ equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.

Additional Information

The intern is expected to familiarize him/herself, to a limited extent, with the administrative work of the Office and other tasks that are typical of UN organizations. The internship will assist in preparatory works of annual council meeting, upcoming conferences/workshops/training TBLDC staff will participate. The role will assist in preparing official documents, tracking sheets, and meeting materials. There will be an updated SharePoint site in Administration and Executive Office folders. Vendor documents will be obtained in timely manner with accuracy. This internship is designed to be full-time and hybrid. The modality can be handled flexibly on request of the successful candidate.
