Overview

Assist with HR and procurement tasks and support team efforts

You have:

  • Secondary Education and Diploma in Business or Public Administration / CIPS level 6
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in a procurement and administration environment (up to 2 years)
  • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills
  • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team
  • Flexible and open to learning and new experiences
  • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions
  • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture
  • Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, DocuSign and others)
  • English (Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Contract

This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Operations Manager and direct supervisors, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

HR Related Tasks

  • Assist with Administration and implementation of HR strategies and policies
  • Provision of HR services
  • Assist with Staff performance management and career development
  • Conduct a review and create an electronic library of staff files
  • Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing

Procurement Related Task

  • Assist with Implementation of procurement operational strategies and policies
  • Support to procurement processes
  • Provide assistance in Implementation of sourcing strategy
  • Provide support in Control of CO Inventory and Assets
  • Assist with provision of logistical services
  • Support to knowledge building and knowledge sharing
  • Assist with registry management and general Administration to CO

Secondary Education and Diploma in Business or Public Administration / CIPS level 6

Experience remark

  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience (up to 2 years) in a procurement and administration environment. Knowledgeable in procurement processes, registry, Asset, and Inventory management.
  • Motivated to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others.
  • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills;
  • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
  • Flexible and open to learning and new experiences;
  • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions;
  • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded;
  • Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, DocuSign and others).
