Result of Service The objective of the contracted services is to support, in a timely and professional manner, the meeting logistics, communications, and other work handled by the Coordinating Unit of the Raptors MOU and the CMS Office – Abu Dhabi.

The results of the services shall include:

1. Effectively supported day-to-day functioning of the Coordinating Unit of the Raptors MOU, including handling correspondence, arranging virtual meetings, and undertaking other routine administrative activities;

2. Effectively supported organization and delivery of MOS3;

3. Effectively supported organization and delivery of virtual international meetings led by the Raptors MOU (meetings of the Technical Advisory Group, the Saker Task Force and its two Discussion Groups, the Vulture Coordination Team, and three MOS3 regional preparatory workshops);

4. High-quality written drafts of meeting documents, invitations and other correspondence (letters and emails), reports and communication materials, produced in a timely manner;

5. Effectively supported development and dissemination of communication materials for the CMS Office – Abu Dhabi.

Duties and Responsibilities An individual contractor is sought to provide substantive support to the Coordinating Unit of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Birds of Prey in Africa and Eurasia (Raptors MOU) and CMS Office – Abu Dhabi. In particular the individual contractor shall provide logistics and communications support to the upcoming Third Meeting of Signatories of the Raptors MOU (MOS3, tentatively scheduled March 2023), its three regional preparatory workshops (virtual meetings, tentatively scheduled November 2022), and other meetings organized by the CMS Office – Abu Dhabi. The individual contractor is also sought to provide support to other general tasks undertaken by the Office.

The CMS Office - Abu Dhabi is the CMS Secretariat’s sole regional hub and coordinates the Raptors MOU and the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation and Management of Dugongs and their Habitats throughout their Range (Dugong MOU). The Office takes innovative steps to promote and implement conservation activities for African-Eurasian raptors, dugongs and other migratory species of regional importance. The Raptors MOU aims to promote internationally coordinated actions to reverse population declines and improve the conservation status of migratory birds of prey throughout the African-Eurasian region. The Coordinating Unit of the Raptors MOU strives to facilitate and support Signatories to communicate, collaborate and coordinate a full range of conservation actions to increase the effectiveness of the Raptors MOU.

Qualifications/special skills Skills: Proficiency in working with MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience with website content creation and management software is desirable. Experience with digital newsletter creation software is desirable.

Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in international or public relations, administration, logistics, digital communications and graphic design, environmental sciences or related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in international conference or meeting planning and organizing or in general office support is required. Meeting management - Experience in international conferences and meetings management is desirable. - Experience in web-based meetings management is desirable. Written production - Experience in preparing document templates and drafting international meeting documents is desirable. Digital content creation - Experience in creating content for digital publishing formats and/or platforms, including adapting briefing notes, press releases and speeches for social media and/or websites is desirable. - Experience in website content creation and management, digital newsletter template creation and/or social media platforms is desirable. International settings experience - Experience in international settings is desirable. - Experience in multilateral environmental agreements (MEAs) is desirable. - Experience in providing administrative support to a United Nations Office is desirable.

Language: Fluency in English (writing, speaking, reading, listening) is required Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
