Org. Setting and Reporting The incumbent to the Construction Engineer at the Contracting Section

Responsibilities In accordance with established policy and procedures, the incumbent:

(A) Arranges statutory payments to local authorities, and interim payments to sub-contractors.

(B) Conducts financial appraisal of each project implemented by the Contracting Section.

(C) Receives all construction materials to be used by the Contracting Section according to Purchase Orders.

(D) Checks quality of goods received by the Contracting Section Stores.

(E) Checks quantities of SM-88 according to materials received.

(F) Prepares index cards for each item stored, and for tools and equipments at the Section.

(G) Issues construction materials, tools, equipments, etc., according to internal Store Demand Notes signed by the receiver.

(H) Maintains files of Store Demand Notes issued by the Contracting Section.

(I) Is responsible for adequate storage of all supplies and equipment for the Contracting Section.

(J) Works on pricing Store Demand Notes issued according to index card prices.

(I) Performs any other duties which may be assigned.

Education University degree in Accountancy.

Work Experience Four years’ experience in accounting.

Languages Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice Conditions of service: - Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary from $1050.20; and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25. - Contract Duration: Three years including 1 year probation period. - Leave: 36 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with six-day working week. 30 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with five-day working week. - Pension: Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency) - Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
