Action contre la Faim has been working in Mozambique between 1991 and 2001, and has resumed its presence in 2019 via local actors’strengthening and in 2021 via direct interventions. ACF’s mission in Mozambique is currently in full expansion, with ongoing large scale emergency projects and several others in discussion. The field team is composed of 120 people, and the team is still growing.

Our assistance currently focuses on the Province of Cabo Delgado, with an office in office in Pemba and a sub-office in Mueda. However we are working on a registration in two other Provinces in the Northern part of the country.

The organization currently plays a strong role in Health emergency capacities strengthening, through the support of the mobile health brigades and health facilities and nutrition care to IDPs and host communities. ACF is working to reduce food insecurity among the affected population (food and cash assistance) and contribute to improve their resilience through by supporting household agriculture and incoming generating activities. ACF is also improving access to WASH services and WASH practices at institutional (school/health facilities) and community levels for IDPs and host communities.

The mission is quite young but stabilized, the procedures are in place. It is necessary to provide support and skill building for finance staff and to strengthen BFU-type knowledge in other departments.

Votre poste et vos responsabilités

Under the management of the Finance Head of Department, the deputy will be responsible for ensuring internal rule compliance and budget follow up. You will be in charge of:

  • To handle regular travel to field office to support finance staff and control internal process are in applied;
  • Reinforce/support/train national finance staff about ACF finance process, tools and technical skill;
  • Be the lead focal point for BFU (monthly update, expense plan update meeting with field office, technical support, training…);
  • Be responsible to manage safe at coordination level et to prepare Monthly cash request to HQ.

Votre profil

You hold a license in finance and a previous ACF experience is a plus;

You have a good interpersonal skills and an ability to work in sensitive cultural environments;

You are fluent in English, including writing reports and creation of tools, Portuguese will be add value;

You have proficiency in Excel, with knowledge of SAGA;

You have an ability to work and live in a context that may impose restrictions on movement;

This position may include working occasionnaly during weekends (in case of a critical incident). Previous ACF experience a plus;

Vos conditions d’emploi

6 months fixed term contract under French (for internationals) or Mozambique (for nationals) labor law
