UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary provides services to UNICEF offices globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is seeking to hire candidates for Finance Assistant roles at GS-4/GS-5 level in the Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest, Hungary to support the section on a temporary basis. These opportunities are perfect stepping stones to UNICEF and the UN system.

Finance Assistants provide support in the areas of Payments, General Accounting, Invoice Processing, Quality Assurance and Master Data Management. Finance Assistants are responsible for parking and processing various documents. These roles are responsible for transactional data entry into electronic systems for verification and can be performed remotely after initial onsite training period.

To qualify as a champion for every child, you will have

  • Completion of secondary education (high school diploma).
  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience in administration and finance if supplemented by an accredited university degree. IMPORTANT: In the absence of completed university degree 4-5 years of relevant experience is required.
  • University level courses in finance, accounting or business are desirable.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of Products (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) is required.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and consistency, with strong analytical, data extraction and reporting skills is required.
  • Experience in planning, organizing and delivering administrative support services is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive communication and information and logical thinking are required.
  • Work experience with a development organization is an asset.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is a strong asset.
  • Non-EU citizens must be in possession of a valid work permit for Hungary. Please attach this to your application.
