Supply and Logistics contributes to UNICEF’s response efforts to the multiple crises with presence on the ground in accessible states and remotely in conflict hotspots. To strengthen the Supply and Logistics footprint in accessible states, five (5) positions at GS-6 level are advertised for batch recruitment:

  1. Wadi Madani Zone Office, Sudan
  2. El Fasher, Sudan
  3. Kosti, Sudan
  4. Kassala, Sudan
  5. Ad Damazine, Sudan

Successful candidates may be deployed to any of the above listed duty stations.

How can you make a difference?

As a Supply & Logistics Associate, you will perform highly skilled work on UNICEF supply chains, and manage the more complex cases and client requests, which frequently requires the evaluation of difficult situations and adaptation of procedures and processes to resolve such cases.

This is the senior GS level for specialized supply chain work and requires advanced specialized knowledge acquired through formal training and experience.

The function is characterized as highly independent and provides opportunities for Associates to lead and carry out responsibility for end-to-end supply chain management from the beginning to the end of the process and provide input into the design and development of improved supply chain services and delivery mechanisms.

The incumbent may supervise lower level GS staff.

As an advocate for children, you will have the following duties/tasks:

  1. Planning
  2. Procurement/contracting
  3. In-country logistics
  4. Warehousing and inventory management
  5. Alternative delivery mechanisms and procurement services
  6. Other duties/responsibilities

To qualify as a Champion for every child you will have:

  • Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to supply chain, business administration, contract/commercial law, or another relevant technical field.
  • For this position, a bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a relevant field may replace three years of related work experience. A master’s degree may replace additional two years.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant administrative experience in supply chain management or a commercial context is required. Understanding of development and humanitarian work is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English & Arabic is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.

The VA is open to all (internal and external candidates). However, priority will be given to staff on TA, UNVs who have current experience working in Sudan especially in active conflict areas.
