You have:
- Preferably Master's degree in a relevant field including research methods, international development, migration studies or business administration.
- At least 5-year experience in data collection, conducting surveys or other research activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mixed migration issues in the region.
- Outstanding communication skills with enumerators of various nationalities and language groups.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including android-based applications.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Excellent ability to work under minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Sensitivity to issues affecting refugees and migrants in the region.
- Knowledge of standard best practices related to procurement and code of conduct in an INGO setting.

Overall purpose of the role:
Under the management of the 4Mi Project Manager, the 4Mi Coordinator is in charge of the implementation of the 4Mi research project in the region. He/she supervises data collection collected by 4Mi field enumerators with the support of a regional Information Management Officer, ensures quality control over the data collection, and coordinates with the Project Manager on management and strategic development of activities in East & Southern Africa. Occasionally, he/she contributes to the analysis of data and writing of the research outputs.
Responsibilities:
Team and quality management
- Responsible for the daily supervision of the 4Mi operations in the region and ensuring a high level of quality in data collected; under the responsibility of the 4Mi PM
- Supervise enumerators in the region in coordination with the 4Mi Project Manager
- Recruits, trains and coordinates 4Mi Field enumerators, as per CO guidelines;
- Takes the lead in developing enumerator performance tracking and evaluation tools
- Liaises with data collection partners when data collection is subcontracted, providing training of trainers, and liaising with enumerators through the partner.
- Work closely with support departments in the country offices to ensure enumerators get the support they require e.g. payments and contracting
- Responsible for sending weekly updates to the monitors on their submissions and to feedback on their surveys, based on the weekly validation
- Take initiative in proposing improvements to existing tools.
- Take the lead in proposing contextual solutions when meeting challenges in project implementation;
Data management and visualization
- Work with the IMO to develop and implement data related SOPs
- Implement data cleaning and data validation tasks on a weekly basis according to internal procedures;
- Support the IMO in data analysis and visualization in support of the research agenda
- Support the IMO in responding to ad hoc data requests
Coordination & Engagement
- Work with Country offices, donors and other stakeholders of different projects throughout project cycle
- Monitoring and reporting of relevant information that might affect the smooth implementation of project activities in the country;
- Occasionally represent MMC at coordination meetings with DRC teams or humanitarian partners eg the IMWG
Research
- Occasionally, contribute to the design of qualitative and quantitative questionnaires, conduct fieldwork and contributes to data analysis and report writing;
- Stay up-to-date on the latest mixed migration developments in the region
Other
- Support the PM in the planning and tracking of expenditures of project budgets
- Any additional tasks in support of the 4Mi project.

Conditions
Contract: One Year Contract with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and performance. Salary and conditions in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment Non-Management Band G.
Availability: 15th July 2022.
