Overview
Lead safeguarding efforts in a challenging humanitarian context in DRC.
You have:
- University degree in social work, psychology, gender studies, human rights or a related field; higher degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in safeguarding or protection, gender-based violence prevention, or related field in humanitarian contexts.
- Proven experience in implementing transformative behavior change initiatives and facilitating ongoing safeguarding dialogue in conflict-affected communities.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in French and at least one local language (Swahili, Lingala, etc.) required. Practical knowledge of English is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working in the DRC or similar high-risk and complex environments.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and engage sensitively with vulnerable populations.
- Good understanding of the political and social dynamics of eastern DRC, including the implications of armed group control on humanitarian access and protection-related risks.
