The initiative is integrated into UNESCO’s Programme and Budget for 2022-2025 (41 C/5) and the work on it across the Culture Sector is led by the Deputy Director of the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. The Culture|2030 Indicators provide a conceptual framework and methodological instruments for countries and cities to assess the contribution of culture to the SDGs as part of the existing implementation mechanisms of the 2030 Agenda at the national or local levels. The framework will assess both the role of culture as a sector of activity, as well as the transversal contribution of culture across different SDGs and policy areas. Evidence gathered will inform policies and decisions as well as operational actions. In the period 2021-2022, 13 countries and 19 cities are already implementing this thematic framework with some additional countries and cities expected to join in 2022. The final project outputs for countries and cities currently implementing the framework are expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2022. More information available on the website: Long Description ---------------- **Consultant’s responsibilities** Under the direct supervision and functional authority of the Deputy Director of UNESCO World Heritage Centre, within the framework of the Culture|2030 Indicators pilot projects, working in close collaboration with UNESCO International and Regional Experts, the Project Implementation Teams in the respective pilot countries, pilot cities, and UNESCO Field Offices, as well as the team and relevant colleagues at the UNESCO World Heritage Center at the Headquarters. The consultant shall carry out the following activities: - Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report on the UNESCO Culture|2030 Indicators activities including the pilot implementations ongoing and proposed; - Liaise with national/local lead partners, as well as experts working on the Pilot Projects regarding the implementation of the planned activities, workplans, and budgets - Coordinate and ensure timely reporting on all Pilot Projects activities and regular reports to the project donors (AECID, Sida, DG-INTPA); - Prepare, implement, and monitor the project budget ; drafting terms of reference and work specifications and facilitating all expert consultants’ work; - Research, recommend and contribute to the development and expansion of the data and knowledge base, including including the data bank and other data archiving systems as well as the programme and capacity building for implementation; - Assess the capacity development needs and priorities, with special focus on promoting UNESCO’s approach to gender equality by facilitating, as much as possible, the involvement of women in local and national implementation teams and highlighting the need to collecting sex disaggregated data for as many of the proposed indicators as possible; - Coordinate the development and integration of refinements to the methodology including with experts inputs as well as the final profile development and visualization; - Follow-up the implementation of communication and advocacy plans.
