Result of Service o Timely delivery of UI/UX Designs compliant with requirements and quality guidelines. o To liaise with the software team and clients to understand the requirements, document them and create required designs. o Design project and concept specific graphics. o Compile designs into thoughtful interactive prototypes. o Timely delivery of technical documents, configuration, and material management aligned with the specifications, quality and deadlines.

Work Location The consultant will work in UN House premise at New Delhi.

Expected duration o Initial Contract is from 01 Dec 2021 – 31st December 2022 (13 months) with a possibility of extension.

Duties and Responsibilities The UN’s Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is responsible for defining the strategic direction for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to the UN Secretariat. It provides oversight of ICT programmes, budgets and decision-making to ensure alignment with the Secretariat’s overall ICT strategy.

The Strategic Solutions unit at India is supporting various ICT development initiatives for its HQ at Vienna, Austria. In this unit we are looking a passionate UI/UX Web/Mobile/Interaction and Graphics Designer to create amazing user experiences, products, and interaction concepts. Design seamless and pixel perfect User Interfaces for Web and Mobile Apps (iOS + Android).

Within delegated authority, and in close cooperation with the Software Production Coordinator, the UI/UX Designer will be responsible for the Duties and Responsibilities mentioned below.

o Visually express project vision and definition through user interface design for in-vehicle experiences o Exhibit passion for emerging technologies, new interaction models, product design, and excellence in visual design o Execute UX vision utilizing motion and prototypes as a primary means of delivery o Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and organization skills o Ability to balance work within a fluid creative design environment and with tight timelines & engineering frameworks o Coordinate interface solutions with Program Managers and Product Managers for specific assignments o Pivot mindset from creative thinker to production mindset to expose implementation efficiencies and reduce design debt o Work is in a fast-paced, dynamic office environment o Ensure tight management of milestones and progress of ongoing software development projects. o Ensures data security and integrity. o Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree/diploma in any stream. Preference would be given to qualified fine art graduates.

Experience: Minimum five years of experience with UI mockups for web based responsive applications.

Skills:

o Proficient with at least one vector graphics tool such as Sketch or AI. o Should be an adept design-thinker. Should be able to visualize the big picture of a project into product concepts and design directions. o Should have good understanding of web and mobile app design ecosystem. o Should be able to use prototyping tools such as Invision or Zeplin. o A demonstrable personal portfolio, or a portfolio over Dribbble, Behance or Uplabs. o Should be familiar with paradigms such as Flat, Material, Flat 2.0, etc. o Should have a knack to stay updated about latest design trends, techniques and technologies. o Familiarity with Adobe After Effects will be a good addition

Language: Good command in English is required.
