Result of Service - To support the Transport unit by providing the required transportation service

Work Location Addis Ababa

Expected duration Six (6) months with a possibility of extension

Duties and Responsibilities Under the general guidance of the Chief of Travel, Transport and Visa Services Unit (TTVSU), and the direct supervision of the supervisor under the transport unit of the Individual Contractors shall perform the following specific duties: - Drives vehicle safely for the transport of authorized personnel, meeting participants and distinguished guests of the Commission before and during the conferences - Collects and delivers of mails, documents and other items to embassies, UN Agencies, Organizations and other offices - Liaise with various government offices for renewal and conversion of driving licenses, process and return UN plates for staff members - Take care of the day-to-day monitoring of the functionality of the assigned vehicles, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs as well as ensures that the vehicle is kept clean - Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing etc.… - Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident - Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: High School Diploma Experience: At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in motor vehicle transport operations or related area. Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in written and spoken English with good communication skill is required.
