Background

The Human Resources Management (HRM) unit is planning to roll out a Region-wide Local Staff Development Programme in Q2 of 2023. The goal of the programme is to offer development and capacity building opportunities to local staff, including General Service Staff (GS) and National Professional Officers (NPOs), to help facilitate advancement in their career. We also have several Career Development and Capacity Building initiatives through the contract period that needs a Project Management Consultant to support. The Consultant will offer support in the design and implementation of the programmes, provide evaluation support on the impact and report to the Regional HR Manager.

Planned Timelines

Start Date: 1 April 2023

End Date: 31 August 2023

Deliverables

1) Finalize and implement the Local Staff Development Programme, the Career Development workshop, Induction and Performance Management and Career Management Trainings across WPRO. 2) Support in the roll out of other Learning initiatives within WPRO. 3) Coordinate with UNSSC and Learning and Development counterparts in HQ in the customization of the program 4) Facilitate needs assessment and other test, such as the Myers-Briggs test, to participants of the course 5) Design of course guidelines for participants to help them through the six-week program 6) Facilitate group discussions for the monthly check-in meetings with participants and conduct follow-up evaluations at the end to assess programme effectiveness.

Specific Requirements

a) Education • Post Graduate degree in Human Resources Management, Training and Development, Organization Development, Business Administration, or a relevant field

  • Certificate in training from a recognized training institution
  • High proficiency in a range of PC/web applications, including but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook and
  • SharePoint.

b) Work experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in training and development • Experience in rolling out training programmes and facilitating workshops in large organizations • Expertise in design and development of learning materials/ resources/guidelines • Knowledge of UN common practices in HR is an added advantage • Rolling out of DEI initiatives an asset.

c) Language

Written and spoken fluency in English is required.

  • The purpose of this vacancy is to develop a list of qualified candidates for inclusion in this advertised roster. Successful candidates will be placed on the roster and subsequently may be selected for consultancy assignments falling in this area of work or for similar requirements/tasks/deliverables.
