The revision of this manual will contribute to the better understanding on how to conduct diaspora mappings at the global level. The manual provides users with a structured approach to understanding diaspora mappings and its relevance and how different methods can be applied for this purpose. Diasporas are agents for development and the first step to maximize their contributions is by collecting relevant data to capture their skills, characteristics, and interests. Data generated from this exercise can be utilized to make more precise policy interventions and develop more effective policies and programmes to engage the diaspora as developmental actors.
