Eligibility criteria

Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.

Description of task

Under the Supervision of Chief Supply Chain Operations Unit, the UN Volunteer responsibilities will include:

  • Examine performance metrics in the Supply Chain Management Service (SCMS) activities, including procurement, warehousing, asset management, and distribution;
  • Suggest improvements, determine the effect on supply chain activities, and identify improvements where necessary;
  • Ensure all SCMs related documentation is adequately captured and maintained in appropriate systems;
  • Collaborate with multiple sections within and beyond SCMS to ensure that stakeholders' requirements are well understood and documented to improve efficiency and reduce costs;
  • Confer with supply chain planners to forecast demand and create supply plans that ensure the availability of materials and products;
  • Monitor freight related activities for goods transportation into the mission in accordance with mission’s Acquisition Plan;
  • Illustrate supply chain processes using models such as workflow, cycle time, and system flow to help facilitate discussion with stakeholders;
  • Collect data for the key performance indicators (KPIs) from all SCMS stakeholders;
  • Prepare dashboards and Power BI reports regularly to provide visibility on operational issues and alert supervisors on time;
  • Highlight deviations in performance from targeted standards and follow up on corrective action;
  • Participate in cross-functional work-teams to assist with projects and share best practice methodologies;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level:

Bachelor degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

A first-level university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.

Required experience:

36 Months

Experience remark:

Minimum of three years relevant working experience in supply chain related business area, preferably in performance analysis.

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent

Area of expertise:

Logistics and supply management

Area of expertise details:

  • ​Solid computer skills, including full proficiency in various MS Office applications, Power BI, other IT applications and office technology equipment;
  • Experience in performance analysis is desirable;
  • Have affinity with or interest in humanitarian relief, post-conflict situations, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System;
  • Sound security awareness.
