Org. Setting and Reporting The position is located in MONUSCO, with duty station Goma. The incumbent will report to Chief Fuel Unit under Life Support Section.

Responsibilities Within the limits of delegated authority, the Supply Assistant will carry out the following duties: - Receives authorized on-line requisitions for stores/fuel supplies from clients; verifies the requisitions and issue in accordance with sections'/units' monthly requirements; ensures that supplies are issued to requesting offices/sections as per approved requisitions without delay. - Monitors stock of fuel/supplies in the stores; conducts regular stock taking of expendable items in the supply/fuel stores and prepares reports on discrepancies observed; informs Chief of Unit, Supply on supplies which requires stock replenishment in a timely manner; Ensures that items in the supply stores are arranged in an orderly manner and ensure that supplies are issued to requestors before expiration date of the products; Plans well in advance on expected delivery of supplies in order to maintain adequate storage facilities for incoming goods. - Assists in raising requisitions for services and items required by the supply Stores; receives requests from contingents and sections and raises requisitions in the system for goods /services required. - Assists Electronic Fuel Management System in receiving and inspecting goods delivered by vendors and managed by Supply/Fuel Unit; Processes internal EFMS reports for goods in the Supply Stores and forward to R&I unit for processing records of the goods in the system and issue to end users according to established procedures; Update stock cards for acquired products. - Conducts periodic inventory of UN property and attractive Property managed by Supply stores and update records in the system by processing issue vouchers to individual end users of UN property for purpose of transparency and accountability. - Prepares write-off requests for property which is lost, obsolete or damaged; Receives technical evaluation report from Technicians on damaged property or property which has become obsolete and raise request for write-off in the system to facilitate submission by the Claims office; ensure that property approved for write-off and disposal is handed over to the Property Disposal Unit in a timely manner. - Perform other duties as required.

Education High School or Diploma or equivalent. Technical certificate in at least two of the following areas: procurement/contract management, inventory management and supply management is desirable.

Work Experience A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in supply, inventory management, procurement, logistics support preferably, HACCP, ISO 22000, including at least 2 years at the international level. Experience in fuel services in support of or in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable. Experience in working with Electronic Fuel Management Systems is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English or French (both oral and written) is required; Knowledge of the other is desirable.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
