Result of Service - Consultant will create a project plan for the development and delivery of Team-Specific NY-based intervention to support returning to the workplace post-pandemic. This project plan will be updated based on millstones and shared with appropriate stakeholders. - Develop at least 2 new training workshops on return to office/workplace topics for NY & global(online) delivery. All training will include trainer speaking notes for ease of future delivery by different counsellors. - Update communication plans on COVID-19 including UN COVID Wellbeing page to reflect the global transition of the pandemic and workplace changes - At the end of each month, consultant will submit a progress report on work completed along with bill for payment.

Expected duration 6 Months. 22 November 2021 - 22 May 2022. With the possibility of extension.

Duties and Responsibilities The Staff Counsellor's Office (SCO) is part of the Division of Healthcare Management and Occupational Safety and Health (DHMOSH), in the Department of Operational Support (DOS), and it is located on the UN Secretariat Building in New York HQ. Its mandate includes providing psychosocial support to staff members and managers, support the DHMOSH teams in managing the mental health cases and education for healthcare professionals provide psychoeducation and wellness activities for the New York based UNS staff.

The Staff Counsellors Office is seeking a consultant to: (i) review the effects on COVID-19 on all aspects of mental health. (ii) Provide support to UN staff in relation to pandemic induced stress (iii) develop a project plan for communication, development, and delivery of team specific interventions. (iv) Support SCO communication strategy as related to psychosocial well-being and mental health. Expected tasks are listed below:

1. Review the up-to-day literature for evidence-based interventions related to early identification of mental health problems due to COVID-19 (virus and quarantine related) to summarize risks and interventions. 2. Provide support to UNS staff and families who have lost a loved one due to COVID-19 through grief counselling. 3. Provide support to the HR Officers, Field Support Group, Managers, UN healthcare workers, etc. related to stress management & the pandemic. 4. Provide online support groups to UNS staff related to the psychosocial stressors of pandemic, return to office, etc. 5. Assist with the creation of behavioral focused communication planning for ongoing response and post- COVID-19 response as needed. 6. Support SCO and DHMOSH teams with communication strategy as it related to incorporating psychosocial wellbeing and mental health through iSeek articles, brochures, and educational materials, drafting memos, announcements, (including translation if relevant), etc.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, or Mental health related field. Experience: At least 5 years of prior work experience in mental health field required. Experience working in medical setting of international organizations is an asset. Language: English is required.
