Job Overview/Summary:

The IRC Thailand Women’s Protection and Empowerment Program Senior Training Officer will be a key implementation on Engaging Men Through Accountable Practice (EMAP) project in Mae Hong Son province. The EMAP training is designed to equip the phases and use the tools of the EMAP intervention, use Accountable Practice throughout the intervention, facilitate the EMAP curriculum and respond to challenging situations that may arise during the intervention and prioritize the voices of women throughout the intervention. The WPE Senior Training Officer will serve as key person to provide support to EMAP Project to implement project along Thailand-Myanmar border. The senior WPE Training officer works closely with EMAP Supervisors and EMPA facilitators to ensure of The EMAP implement and monitoring EMAP to be in line with project strategy and provide technical support to relevant team for the day-to-day management. WPE Senior Trainer Officer will be based in IRC’s office in Mae Hong Son, under supervision of Senior WPE Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Project Implementation

1.1 Provide technical supports to an Engaging Men through Accountable Practice (EMAP)’s Supervisors and EMAP’s facilitators. 1.2 Support Supervisors and Facilitators (preferably a man and a woman) who will lead this EMAP training. Supervise and support supervisors and facilitators to take responsible for the day-to-day management, during the implementation of the women and men’s EMAP groups with intervention and the EMAP framework of Accountable Practice. 1.3 Facilitate the EMAP curriculum and respond to challenging situations that may arise during the intervention and prioritize the voices of women throughout the intervention. 1.4 Coordinate with external relevant stakeholder groups to organize GBV’s prevention in the community including 16 days activism against Gender Based Violence campaigns. 1.5 Coordinate with relevant local key stakeholders and receive support from WPE Senior Manager to organize coordination meetings regarding EMAP’s issue.

2. Project Management

2.1 Support WPE Senior Manager to develop Program report related to donor requirement and project requirement. 2.2 Coordinate with Monitoring & Evaluation (Program Quality Team) to develop EMAP’s tracking tools for the EMAP’s project results, including doing data entry.

Position Reports to: Senior Women’s Protection and Empowerment Manager Position directly supervises: EMAP’s Camp Based Assistants (CBAs) Indirect Reporting: N/A Other Internal and/or external contacts: coordinates with Karenni National Youth Organization (KNYO), Karenni National Women’s Organization (KNWO, Karenni Refugee Committee and Camp Committee including relevant Camp Based Organizations (CBOs) and religious leaders. Internal: WPE Team, livelihood Team, LAC Team, Health Team and Environmental health Team, Monitoring, and evaluation Manager (Program quality Team), and operation team. External: N/A

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education: A University degree in a relevant or high school certificate or post-ten diploma required, with a strong interest in refugee.

Work Experience: - Proven experience in working in Women Program or refugee issue and basic understanding of the root causes of Violence Against of Women and Girls (VAWG). - Experience working in the community, preferably providing GBV prevention and/or responses services. - Proven experience related in Protection such as: Gender Mainstreaming, Child Protection, or Safeguarding training.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: - Interest in individual attitudinal and behavior change, including for oneself. - Strong facilitation skills. - Demonstrated analytical, systematic-thinking, and problem-solving skills. - Solution oriented, committed, and good Listening and communication skills to work smoothly with colleagues from various culture and backgrounds. - Strong understanding of accountability and proven ability to build Client Feedback Systems. - Highly organized, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities and able to work well under deadlines with minimum supervision. - Computer proficient, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point including online communication platform such as Zoom or Microsoft team.

Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English skills and plus Karenni, Karen and/or Burmese.

Working Environment:

This position is based in the IRC office in Mae Hong Son. This position is required to frequently travel to Ban Mai Nai Soi and Mae Surin temporary shelters.
