You have:

  • BSc in Nursing/Nursing Science with any two (2) of the following: Diploma in Public/Occupational Health Nursing; Family Planning Certificate; Post Basic Diploma in Accident & Emergency Nursing; Post Basic Nursing Certificate in Theatre Techniques; Post Basic Nursing Certificate in Paediatric Nursing; Diploma in Nursing Science.
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in at least three (3) of the following areas; Post Basic Diploma in Accident and Emergency unit; Post Basic Nursing Certificate in Theatre Techniques; Post Basic Nursing Certificate in Paediatric Nursing; Outpatient Departments and Medical wards; Community Health Nursing.
  • Good organizational skills and demonstrate ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in carrying out basic laboratory procedures such as rapid malaria test, urinalysis and blood sugar using a glucometer.

Position: Senior Nursing Officer

Closing Date: 11 June 2025

Contract: 3-year renewable contract Location: Ibadan

DUTIES:

  • Accurately assess and record patients’ vital signs.
  • Perform wound dressing for both routine and emergency cases.
  • Conduct eye lavage, ear syringing, and administer parenteral medications as required.
  • Initiate and manage intravenous infusions when necessary.
  • Administer all routine immunizations in accordance with medical guidelines.
  • Assess visual acuity using the Snellen chart.
  • Escort critically ill patients to external healthcare facilities when needed.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures such as incision and drainage of abscesses.
  • Suture minor lacerations under appropriate clinical conditions.
  • Record daily patient attendance using the clinic’s electronic system.
  • Clean, sterilize (autoclave), and properly store nursing instruments.
  • Monitor and replenish the clinic’s emergency box and resuscitation trolley as needed.
  • Deliver health education across various areas of nursing practice.
  • Provide clinical consultations when required.
  • Prepare medication bills outside of regular working hours.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION:

COMPETENCIES:
