Senior Gender Needs Assessment Adviser GenCap
Contract
This is a Professional contract, Grade 11 (NRC) contract. More about Professional contract, Grade 11 (NRC) contracts.
BACKGROUND
NORCAP builds partnerships with international organisations and national actors to protect lives, rights and livelihoods. We provide expert personnel and collaborate with international organisations and national partners to identify capacity needs, and to establish common goals and projects. Among these common goals is Gender Equality. NORCAP believes in the importance of enabling stronger leadership on gender equality by providing expertise and developing capacity that enables our partners to meet the needs of people in fragile contexts and crises.
Since 2007, we have been dedicated to achieving this outcome through the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Gender Standby Capacity Project (GenCap). The Project (GenCap) aims to reinforce leadership, programmes, and localisation strategies that ensure the centrality of gender equality in humanitarian action, by investing in tailored inter-agency deployments in support of humanitarian operations.
Mission
Therefore, we are in search of a Senior Adviser in Humanitarian Gendered Needs Assessments, who will support operational guidance in humanitarian operations. You, the candidate selected for this role, will provide information and advice, around building the capacities of deployed GenCap Advisers. Moreover, you will also support and provide advice on how GenCap can leverage its current position in collaboration with the partner(s). Doing this further enables GenCap to make progress on priorities set by the IASC on assessments and gender analysis.
This is a remote work post, set to last 3 months in duration but may be extended. Longer term investment will depend on strategic prioritisation by GenCap project management. You will be compensated according to the GenCap salary level and conditions of appointment.
