Job Description

Job Overview: The Resettlement Casework Coordinator supports the Resettlement team by supervising a team of caseworkers, interns and volunteers that provide case management services to newly arrived refugees. The Resettlement Casework Coordinator ensures the availability of interpretation and translation services through the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision and quality control of interpreters. The Resettlement Casework Coordinator supports program quality assurance efforts by producing regular data reports analyzing service quality, and working with the Resettlement Manager and the rest of the Resettlement team to improve data entry challenges identified . This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Resettlement Manager.

Major Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Train, guide and mentor a team of caseworkers, casework assistants, interns and volunteers to ensure that newly arrived refugees receive high quality services in a timely manner. Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients. Recruit and retain interpreters to ensure the delivery of high quality, culturally and linguistically competent services. Develop trauma-informed training materials, and deliver existing ethics training materials to best prepare interpreters for their work with refugees, asylees and victims of human trafficking. Review client files and casenote reports for contract compliance at closure of service delivery period, including checking that required services were completed timely, that case notes meet funder expectations, that documents in files are consistently organized and easily navigable. Support the Resettlement team in monitoring preparation as needed. Be the primary point of contact with IRC data staff and funder data staff, ensuring that all needed data corrections are completed timely. Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engage as a member of the IRC team. Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency. Use personal, insured vehicle and/or public transportation (where available) to travel and transport clients and materials as needed throughout the service delivery area. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study preferred. Work Experience: Minimum 2 year of experience successfully providing casework services required; Lived refugee experience, or experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations required. Prior experience in onboarding and training staff and supporting quality assurance efforts a plus. Demonstrated Skills & Competencies: Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships. Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment. Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in work product. Proven experience in data analysis and/or building compliance systems. Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group is desired. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problem-solving purposes. Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle. Working Environment: A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities. May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
