MDF is a leading community group in Papua New Guinea who aims to develop concept idea, carry out research on various issues affecting communities in Papua New Guinea. In this regard MDF wish to engage energetic and creative volunteers who have research skills to carry out a research on the use of social media in Papua new Guinea. The research will be published and the volunteers will be included as authors depending on the amount of contribution.

The research is necessary as part of MDF's success and operation and to amplify the results of MDF's works that contribute to community development in PNG and various Sustainable Development Goals to wider audience. It will help MDF to understand the social media use and audience in Papua New Guinea and help MDF in identifying its relevant target and beneficiaries, particularly in disseminating MDF's works and results to broader stakeholders and connect with relevant audience through social media space. To that end, MDF wish to engage online volunteers through this digital collaboration to support MDF in carrying the research activities remotely.

The task will involve literature review and desk research using social media, google search engine on any keywords related to the use of social media in Papua New Guinea. The selected volunteers will be required to read necessary information about Papua New Guinea, the social context and the popular use of internet using mobile phones. Further, the online volunteers will also be required to write and support in publishing a research or communication paper.

Each online volunteer will be assigned one of the tasks mentioned above, and credited according to their contribution in the research paper. At the end of the assignment and upon successful completion of the task, the online volunteers will receive certificates from UNV.
