Result of Service The contractor will ultimately:

  • Provide research and general administrative tasks in support of the various activities related to ADCD-ASAP Phase 2;
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as but not limited to drafting/preparing promotional material (video, brochures, etc).

    Duties and Responsibilities The services of an individual contractor are needed to carry out research and substantive work in support of the implementation of the activities of the project on “Advancing Digital Cooperation and Development Arab States Action Programme (ADCD - ASAP) – Phase 2”, as well as assist in a variety of administrative services in support of related deliverables, including workshops, webinars, meetings, studies, research papers and webpage content.

The individual consultant/research assistant will work under the guidance and direct supervision of the Chief of ICT Policies, Information Society and Digital Development in the Statistics, Information Society and Technology Cluster (SISTC), ESCWA, and in cooperation with other ADCD-ASAP team members assigned by him.

In particular, the IC will be tasked to do the following: - Systematically follows through and retrieves, highlights and compiles information on Digital Development and Digital Cooperation related topics in the Arab region from a wide variety of information sources; prepares inputs on the subject as required; - Prepares statistical tables and graphs and assists in the preparation of presentations and background material in support of Digital Development and Digital Cooperation deliverables; - Reviews documents on Digital Development and Digital Cooperation for accuracy and quality; - Drafts routine correspondences (emails, letters, memos…) to relevant stakeholders as needed; - Assist in building databases and mailing lists for outreach in support of Digital Development and Digital Cooperation deliverables; - Assist in the preparations and the finalization of the DDR - Maturity Measurement Model 1.0 and related pre-and post-events; - Assist in the preparations for and the finalization of the Final Draft of the manuscript of the Arab Digital Agenda/Arab ICT Strategy (ADAICTS); - Performs other duties related to ADCD-ASAP – Phase 2 as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills Advanced university degree in technology, computer science, business administration/management, economics, statistics or related fields is required. At least 2 years of experience in the Information and communication, technology, business administration/management, economics or statistics research and analysis in the Arab region is required.

Languages Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
