Research Assistant

Result of Service - Provide research and administrative tasks and other ad-hoc activities in support of the calculation of GEMS maturity index, and reports on the obtained results. - Perform other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities The services of an individual contractor are needed to carry out research and analyses on measuring the maturity of government electronic and mobile services (GEMS maturity index) to support the development of technical material on the subject. The individual contractor will provide support to the RB project on "Advancing Digital Cooperation and Development Arab States Action Programme".

In particular, the IC will be tasked to do the following:

• Validate the calculations methodology and the dashboarding embedded in the GEMS platform.
• Verify the coherence of the input GEMS data thru the developed platform.
• Use the GEMS platform to calculate the score of the different index pillars.
• Contribute to the preparation of the report based on the collected data.
• Follow up with EMCs focal points to provide additional information on the assessed e-services.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications/special skills Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft office applications is required.

• Experience in working with the United Nations or similar organizations is desirable. Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in technology, computer science or other related areas is required. Advanced university degree in a related field is desirable. Experience: A minimum of eight years of experience in the field of research and analysis in the Arab region is required. Experience and knowledge of e-Government indicators is desirable. Language: Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
