This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of the communication Analyst, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Reporting

  • Write reports or conduct research to effectively disseminate successes, learning and impact from ROWCA’s initiatives to internal and external audiences.
  • Use information from programme activities to create information products on ROWCA ‘s work and its impact.
  • Use analytics and reporting tools to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social media strategy in collaboration with the social media assistant

Communication

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives in the Regional Office and across country offices in the region

  • Connect knowledge product by the RO or from the field units with other regional/global intelligence hubs/portals

  • Capture the impact of Volunteer Promotion initiatives in the region and translate them into knowledge/best practise products

Strong experience in communication, reporting, documentation, publication

- Experience with a multilateral or international organization, preferably in the region, is an asset but not required

- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages,

- Experience in formatting publications, e.g. books, policy papers, journals, official reports, etc is an asset.

National UN Volunteers are part of a health insurance plan. National UN Specialist Volunteers in Senegal receive approximately USD 868 as Monthly Living Allowance.
