ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This role is the Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) located in Headquarters, Rome, Italy and will report to the Chief of Quality Assurance and Policy (P5).

THE ROLE

Assist the Quality Assurance and Policy (QA&P) Team and OIGI in policy and quality assurance matters with internal and external stakeholders. The position will assist the QAP team in providing accurate and timely input into the quality of investigative outputs and policy matters.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

You have:

  • Master’s degree in Law / Criminology or other related fields or a Bachelor’s degree in the same disciplines with additional relevant years of experience and/or relevant certificate.

EXPERIENCE:

You have:

  • Typically, three years or more of relevant progressively responsible professional experience in planning, leading and/or executing complex criminal or administrative investigations.
  • Previous experience in the conduct of investigations with a UN organization or international financing institution is an asset.
  • Experience in providing legal advice and guidance on investigative matters.

LANGUAGE:

You have:

  • Fluency (level C) in English language.
  • Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese.

You have:

  • Experience in reviewing and providing advice on investigative outputs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate insights to stakeholders in and outside of WFP.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The positions are open to all nationalities.
  • While WFP does support flexible working arrangements, the positions are based in Rome and would require the selected candidate to relocate.
  • The selected candidate will be employed on a renewable fixed-term contract (up to 8 years) with a probationary period of one year.
  • WFP offers an attractive compensation and benefits package, including basic salary, post adjustment, relocation entitlement, travel and shipment allowances, 30 days’ annual leave, home leave, an education grant for dependent children, pension plan and medical insurance.
