Organizational Setting

The position is located at the FAO Representation in Georgia. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by the FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

The incumbent shall operate under the overall guidance and responsibility of the FAO Representative in Georgia; direct supervision of the FAO/ENPARD Coordinator and in close collaboration with other international and national consultants of the different FAO projects in Georgia and FAO Representation Office for Georgia.

Technical Focus

The Project Support Specialist will be integrated within the FAO team in charge of the grant component of FAO’s contribution to the ENPARD III program of the European Union (GCP/GEO/011/EC, 50%), and within the FAO team in charge of the “EU innovative action for private sector competitiveness in Georgia” program (UNJP/GEO/013/EC, 50%). The incumbent will be assigned some of the grant applications received through the program and will be fully responsible for them, from their analysis to the final impact evaluation.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Prepare press reviews about Georgian agriculture for further dissemination within the team; • Participate in coordination, organizing and implementation of technical support (trainings, workshops) for the private sector producers; • Continuously manage and update the database of potential stakeholders and provide the most up to date contact details; • Liaise and coordinate the collaboration with different partners and service providers for the smooth implementation of the Project activities; • Provide support to the M&E team for activities’ data collection and data input; • Facilitate preparation and drafting of various narrative reports; • Any other duties as required.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements

• University degree up to Master’s level in management, economy or related field; • Working knowledge of English • 2 years of relevant work experience
